Purchasing manager Chris Collura explained item 7e as requisitions 161088 and 16102 for repairs to a public-works tractor and a spare fire-rescue ambulance, with combined costs totaling $69,010.13. Collura cited a repair quote of $34,001.98 and requested rounding to $40,000 for unforeseen additional repairs. The board voted to approve item 7e unanimously.
For item 7f, staff described a replacement Ring Power agricultural tractor (model MT5T525B) with a 30-foot boom and a 50-inch rotary cutter at a purchase price "in excess of $185,000." Commissioners discussed the unit's reach, safety for the operator and ability to service roadside swales; Faith Alkati said the unit would provide improved efficiency and a rental unit would be provided while the new equipment is on order. The motion to purchase the tractor passed unanimously.
No additional public opposition to these purchases was recorded at the meeting. Commissioners characterized the decisions as necessary capital maintenance to keep county operations functional.
