Madison County forms opioid settlement task force; several routine resolutions approved

The Madison County Board of Supervisors voted to establish an opioid settlement task force to oversee and make recommendations on how to allocate opioid settlement funds the county is receiving.

Chair (unnamed) described the task force makeup discussed during the meeting — including representation from the Madison County Sheriff’s office, Board of Health, Emergency Medical Services, one board member and one member at large — and said a resolution formalizing the group would be prepared. "I think this was a good step forward on how to determine how to use those opioid funds that this Madison County is receiving," the chair said. The motion to form the task force was moved by Heather and seconded by Diane; the board voted and the motion carried.

On related routine business the board approved a sheriff’s resolution appointing a full‑time dispatcher/jailer (motion by Diane, second by Heather) and approved two secondary roads wage-adjustment resolutions for employees following probation (motions moved and seconded; carried).
