EAGLE POINT, Ore. — The Eagle Point SD 9 board on March 20 approved the evaluation of Superintendent Kovacs for March 2023–February 2024 and voted to renew his employment agreement through June 30, 2027.
A motion to approve the evaluation was moved and seconded; roll‑call votes recorded the motion as approved. The board then moved to renew Kovacs' employment agreement from 07/01/2024 through 06/30/2027 with the revisions discussed and the signatures to follow. That motion was also approved by roll‑call.
Following the vote, a board member remarked, “Andy is on the hook until 2027 now,” reflecting the contract extension. Staff said the evaluation letter will be posted and that the board will address related documentation, calendars and any needed resolutions in the upcoming work session.
No dissenting votes were recorded on either the evaluation approval or the contract renewal.
