A staff member summarized the environmental report as identifying two issues: one contaminated spot near the planned parking area that could be capped or cleaned, and an unknown volume of wood chips that may produce methane and would need removal or covering. "There were 2 issues identified in that environmental report... the consultant came and said there's 1 bad spot ... and the other is the issue of unknown amount of wood chips that would create methane," staff said.
Council said they plan to hold town halls and to present home designs and lot organization in future public meetings; no final purchase condition or sale was rescinded during the session.
