Board approves minor RSID boundary realignment after brief public comment

Billings — Yellowstone County commissioners voted Feb. 20 to approve Resolution 24-22, a boundary realignment of a local road maintenance district intended to ensure properties on the south side of a county street are included in the appropriate RSID.
Tim (Public Works) explained the county’s annual review of RSIDs and said the change reflects the fact that people on the south side of the county street do not use the streets on the north side and therefore should be aligned with the south-side district.
During the public hearing, Bonnie Hammond of 2035 Linden Drive asked whether her property at Linden and Bluebell would be affected. Tim told her the change would reduce the number of contributors in her RSID and that “for you, really, nothing's gonna change.” The board then moved to approve the resolution, which passed on a voice vote.
Staff said the change is administrative and intended to align assessment responsibilities with actual street use; no additional immediate maintenance action was directed.
