The Tangipahoa Parish Council on Aug. 25 heard a presentation from Lane Tallon, director of the Florida Parishes Arena, on a proposed update to the arena's operating-fee contract (Ordinance 25-26). Tallon said many fees have not been updated since 2004 and the facility has relied on limited staff and general-fund support. "They have not been updated for quite some time," he said, adding the facility needs revenue to cover rising operating costs and recent capital improvements.
