Frangill Road project on schedule; final completion targeted August 2026

The Town of Cutler Bay received a progress update April 16 on the Frangill Road improvements from Stefano Viola of Kimley‑Horn.
Viola said the project team is holding biweekly coordination meetings with contractor Acosta and design consultant Stantec. "Acosta has wrapped up work Zone 1," he said, and crews are completing streetscape, lighting and curbing in Work Zone 2 with a planned finish "this month." He reported active work in Work Zone 3, installation of maintenance‑of‑traffic measures and drainage at the intersection of Frangill and Tiffany Drive.
Viola told the council the schedule currently shows a final completion of August 2026 but cautioned that recent rain days and unforeseen conditions might affect the timeline. "We are still tracking the schedule, but there may be some items that may arise," he said.
Janet, who covered public involvement, said staff are distributing updated maintenance‑of‑traffic information to residents in Phase 3, and that outreach includes in‑person visits to help neighbors visualize the changes.
No vote or new appropriations were taken at the meeting; the update was informational.
