He said deployment is intended to give deputies extra seconds to gain control of an individual and noted the device uses a loud distraction element and a tether rather than darts.
The second purchase is the iPro and BlueTeam software suite to centralize professional-standards/internal-affairs records and field reporting (use-of-force, pursuit reports, etc.). Nunn said the sheriff’s office negotiated a five-year package that reduced an initial $95,000 estimate to roughly $60,003 plus training, for a total of $62,369.79 over five years.
A motion to approve use of $116,409 in law-enforcement restricted funds, an associated budget amendment, and authorization for the county manager to sign contracts was made and approved by the board.
