Board votes to terminate CareerTech employee after director's recommendation

The Oklahoma CareerTech State Board voted to terminate an individual employed by CareerTech (identified in the agenda as Corson Dean) after Director Hakan recommended termination.
Hakan presented the personnel item and said the agency recommended termination and offered the board the option to move into executive session. Hakan also noted that Raquel Parley, manager of human resources, was available should the board wish to question staff privately. Board members indicated the questions and concerns had been addressed through project procedures described on the record and moved and seconded approval to proceed with the employment action.
Ashley conducted a roll-call vote; Mister Brown, Mister Gilbert, Miss Hanning, Mister McCullough, Mister Seaman and Superintendent Walters recorded 'Yes' and the motion passed.
The board did not take additional public comment and did not attach further publicly stated conditions to the personnel action during the meeting.
