Council accepts Electric City Transit safety plan update

Anderson City — The Anderson City Council on Sept. 22 accepted an updated agency safety plan for Electric City Transit, the municipal transit system that runs six countywide routes and connects to regional services.
Transit manager Keith Moody told the council the Federal Transit Administration mandated transit agencies develop agency safety plans beginning in 2020 and that the city must bring plan updates before its governing body annually. Moody said the agency recently completed a triennial federal audit and the FTA has already reviewed the agency safety plan; the council approved the update at the meeting.
Council members praised staff work and moved to approve the plan; the motion passed by voice vote.
