The superintendent told the board that construction at Ranch Heights is progressing on schedule and within the guaranteed maximum price. He said classrooms for the safe-room portion are framed, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work is ongoing, the north connector foundation has been poured and slab work is scheduled, and the elevator pit foundations have been started.
"The total project will be complete, July," the superintendent said, and indicated the district hopes to begin moving into the new portion at the end of the school year. When asked where the elevator would be located, the superintendent said it will be in the front of the original building and that a new pit had to be created because the building previously had no elevator.
No construction contract changes or budget amendments were proposed during the meeting; the superintendent characterized the project as remaining on the planned timeline.
