Chester County board approves $2,000 donation for Project Graduation

Students from the Chester County High School Class of 2025 asked the Chester County School Board on Monday for help funding Project Graduation, and the board approved a $2,000 donation.

"We have come here on behalf of Project Graduation to request funding the night of 05/19/2025," student leader Nathan South Brewer told the board, listing recent fundraisers and saying, "We're not asking for any specific amount. Anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated." The students said they planned additional sales and events to help cover the cost of the senior celebration.

Board members noted that a previous board gave $2,000 to the senior class and moved to match that support; the motion to donate $2,000 was made and seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded dissent. The board did not record a roll-call vote in the minutes.

Logistics for delivering the check were discussed briefly; the board agreed to mail the donation or provide it to a student representative. No conditions or restrictions on the money were recorded during the vote.

The board recorded the donation as part of routine consent/action items and proceeded with the rest of the agenda.
