Rush County council votes to convert to Vote Center system
The Rush County Council unanimously approved a resolution on March 24 to convert the county from precinct-based voting to a Vote Center County after a presentation by Jane Simmons of the county election board; next steps include public notice and submission of a plan to the Indiana election division.

Jane Simmons, secretary of the Rush County Election Board, told the council on March 24 that the county election board had voted to pursue converting Rush County from precinct-based voting to a Vote Center County and asked the council to adopt a resolution allowing the move. "The election board feels it's going to be a huge convenience to those people in Rush County," Simmons said, noting that 65 Indiana counties already use vote centers and that the surrounding counties are vote-center counties.
