At the May 22 meeting the mayor reappointed and appointed members to several advisory panels by acclamation because the number of applicants matched available seats.
Appointments and reappointments announced included members of the Community Development Block Grant Citizens Advisory Committee (Councilwoman Vivian Miller Cody, Sandra Tooley, Dr. Beverly Richardson Blake, Deborah White); the Public Art Advisory Committee (Teresa Boyd, Stephen Walker, Craig Hawkins); the Valdosta‑Lowndes County Airport Authority (Paul Hamilton, David DeSalvo); and the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals (Miss Hobby).
During the city manager’s report staff recognized Public Works Week under the leadership of Larry Ogden and announced city offices would be closed Monday, May 26, for Memorial Day. Councilmembers made brief announcements about local ceremonies and community events and then adjourned the meeting.
