At the meeting the board debated whether to approve a set of vendor qualifications and related consent items that would allow district vendors to negotiate contracts for tutoring and before/after-school services. Trustees raised questions about the difference between qualifying vendors and awarding contracts, monitoring of services, program duplication, and whether some providers had publicly taken positions in the community that board members felt conflicted with district values.
