First Assistant Prosecutor Janine Hummer said an amendment adding an effective date of Dec. 31, 2025 could be included. Multiple commissioners said they were uncomfortable permanently ceding this authority and preferred either a sunset or a time‑limited trial.
Rochelle Pride, interim director of Economic Development and Planning, said the change was intended to address procedural backlogs and speed transactions for residents and development partners. Administrator Kenneth Wilson and staff agreed to the postponement and to add clarifying language stating the authorization would apply to the current county administrator and include a sunset provision. The board voted to postpone Resolution 34825 for one week so staff can return with the amended language.
