The Florissant City Council used its July 28 meeting to approve multiple business-permit transfers, a federal block-grant action plan and a parks-grant resolution.
Ordinance No. 9093: Bill 10088 (transfer of an existing nonconforming special-use permit for Quality Inn, 55 Dunne Road). Councilman Schildreth described visiting the Quality Inn and said he observed "progression on improvements," and the council approved the transfer after second and third readings; the ordinance was adopted by roll call.
Ordinance No. 9094: Bill 10092 (Community Development Block Grant FY2025 annual action plan). The ordinance authorizes the mayor to submit the FY2025 action plan to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; council approved the third reading by roll call vote.
Ordinance No. 9095: Council approved a special-use permit transfer for Omar Atawaron (DBA 700 Horsepower LLC) to allow a car-detailing shop at 8201 North Lindbergh; Councilman Egan moved and Councilman O'Donnell seconded and the item passed.
Board appointment: Councilman Shildroff moved to reappoint Kim Burns (317 Riley Place) to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission; Councilman Egan seconded and the appointment was approved by voice vote.
Resolution No. 1073: The council unanimously approved a resolution supporting the Parks & Recreation Department's submission of an application to the Saint Louis Municipal Park Grant Commission for a Coke Park soccer-field project.
Bills introduced for first reading: Bill 10096 and Bill 10097 were introduced as first readings to authorize mayoral execution of first amendments to site lease agreements with T-Mobile USA Tower LLC and STC 5 LLC for cell-tower leases; these items were set for future consideration.
The council concluded the meeting with mayoral announcements about upcoming community events and adjourned.
