Sheridan County commissioners authorize refilling IT vacancy

Sheridan County commissioners authorized the county IT manager to advertise and refill a staff vacancy during the Sept. 2 staff meeting.
Mark Gramber, who identified himself as the IT manager, told the commission his department currently had a vacancy and asked permission to recruit to restore full staffing. "I currently have a vacancy in my department, and so I'm looking for your approval to advertise and and refill that vacancy and get my IT department back to fully staffed," Gramber said.
A commissioner moved to approve filling the vacancy; another commissioner seconded the motion. The board approved the motion by voice vote and directed staff to begin recruitment.
The authorization allows IT to post the position and begin the hiring process; personnel details, candidate selection and timing will be handled by county HR and IT managers and returned to the commission as needed.
Next steps: recruitment to be advertised immediately and candidates to be screened by county HR and IT management.
