The Granite Falls School Board voted Aug. 13 to adopt a slate of policy updates on second reading covering student transitions, staff protections and asset management.
Director Ladue moved to accept the second reading to amend Policy 2230 (transition to kindergarten); the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The board similarly approved second-reading adoptions for Policy 5011 (harassment of district staff prohibited), Policy 6801 (capital assets and theft/sensitive assets), Policy 5012 (parental, family or marital status and pregnancy or related conditions of staff) and Policy 3206 (pregnant and parenting students).
Most of the items passed with no extended discussion; board members indicated the updates reflect routine housekeeping or legal and WASDA-recommended language changes. The motion language and votes were recorded by voice; no detailed roll-call tallies were stated on the record.
The boards approvals complete the second-reading step for these policies; several related first readings were heard separately on policy areas such as nondiscrimination, grading and interviews/interrogations of students.
Board members did not request additional public hearings on the adopted policies at this meeting.
