Presenters said the plan moves health equity from a mission statement into quality‑improvement practice and will include measurable headline indicators and performance measures. Staff said they will return a resolution to adopt the strategic plan at the next meeting; the commission agreed to hold the resolution for a short public‑comment period and further review by the joint conference committee before final adoption.
Commissioners urged specific implementation detail and disaggregated measures for populations with disparate outcomes. Commissioner comments singled out African American health disparities, the need for outcome measures for the security work at SFGH, and the importance of clarifying responsibilities where security duties are divided across organizations. Staff agreed to monthly updates and to bring additional detail to the joint conference committee.
