Committee backs amended AmEx lounge lease; airport projects $1.13 million more annually
The Budget and Finance Committee voted to forward an amendment to the American Express common‑use lounge lease at San Francisco International Airport to the full Board with a positive recommendation; staff said a blended rent of about $211 per square foot and tenant improvements would raise net airport revenue by about $1,134,000 a year.

Airport speaker Kathy Widener said the expanded, concession‑style lounge should not be treated as a traditional airline‑run lounge and that a blended rent of roughly $211 per square foot is appropriate given tenant improvements and the portion of the expansion not marketable to other concessions.
