Committee recommends DA grants for insurance-fraud work to full Board
The committee voted to send two retroactive resolutions to the full Board to accept California Department of Insurance grants — $316,000 for automobile insurance fraud and $928,000 for workers’ compensation fraud investigations and prosecutions for the 2020–21 grant year.

The Budget & Finance Committee on March 17 recommended that the full Board approve two retroactive grant resolutions for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. Assistant District Attorney Supriya Perry told the committee the California Department of Insurance funds will support investigation, deterrence and prosecution of automobile and workers’ compensation insurance fraud for the July 1, 2020–June 30, 2021 grant period.
