Committee recommends Mills Act contract for 361 Oak Street to full Board

The Government Audit and Oversight Committee took up a resolution (item 3) authorizing a Mills Act historical property contract for 361 Oak Street. Planning Department staff reported the property is individually listed on the California Register of Historic Resources and that the owners committed to invest more than $200,000 in structural upgrades, compatible window replacement, roof replacement and painting in return for the property‑tax adjustment under the Mills Act. The Historic Preservation Commission had unanimously recommended approval.
Owner Christopher Ludwig addressed the committee and reiterated a commitment to rehabilitating and maintaining the 1885 Italianate home. With no public comment and no objections, the committee forwarded the item to the full Board with a recommendation for a Nov. 29 hearing.
