Committee narrows cafeteria ban, refers revised employee-cafeteria policy to Planning for conditional-use framework
After a lengthy debate about small-business impacts, worker equity and permitting, the committee amended an employee-cafeteria prohibition to require conditional-use authorization for full-service, employee-only cafeterias and referred the ordinance back to Planning for development of CU criteria.

Supervisor Asha Safaie presented an amended approach to a proposed ban on employee cafeterias in office space, saying the goal was to protect street-level small businesses while allowing existing or limited on-site food uses where appropriate.
