The Rules Committee continued consideration of eight appointments to the Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Task Force after Rose Marie Bosque of the Department of Building Inspection requested a continuance to allow additional applicants to submit paperwork.
Bosque told the committee that more applications were imminent and that the department hoped to finalize appointments next week; she also indicated the task force’s composition may be revisited by the Board in the future. Public speakers Adele Veil Carpenter and Bridal Creech urged the committee to appoint Jordan Davis to a tenant seat, citing Davis’s advocacy on behalf of SRO tenants and an endorsement from the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club.
Committee members moved and seconded to continue the item to the next scheduled meeting or until it can be agendized; the motion carried and the item will return to the committee agenda.
