Committee grants short design extension for Hamilton Playground and Recreation Center

The Budget and Finance Committee recommended an ordinance to extend the design-phase deadline for the Hamilton Playground, Recreation Center, and Pool to May 15, 2007. Recreation and Parks capital staff said the project encountered seismic and structural issues that required additional design work to keep construction costs reasonable. "We ran into some encountered some concerns with seismic issues and some structural items," the department—s capital staff said, asking for the extension to ensure the work is properly scoped.
