Select Board approves multiple licenses, accepts donations and makes appointments

In a single consent-style sequence, the board closed public hearings and approved licenses for multiple waste-hauling businesses, including Troy On A Waste Services Inc., Waste Management of Maine (2000 Forest Avenue), Pine Tree Waste (DBA Solid Waste Services), Jeffrey A. Simpson Inc., EVA/VAV at Your Disposal, JCO Disposal, and A-1 Environmental Service. The board also approved a taxi business license for Ocean Taxi LLC. Each license motion was seconded and approved by voice vote with the board recording unanimous support (voice announcements indicated 4-0 where noted).
The board accepted a long list of donations totaling multiple thousands of dollars to support town funds and programs: gifts to the We Are Wells Fund (including multiple $250–$500 donations and other gifts), donations to Founders Park Community Center and Boundaries Park Community Center, a $3,125 gift to the Wells Public Library, and smaller donations supporting library and community programming. The board moved to accept the donations and send letters of thanks; the motion passed 4-0.
On staffing and governance personnel, the Select Board appointed Joshua Legasse as a regular member and Tina Bocci as an associate member of the planning board after brief procedural discussion. Those appointments were approved by unanimous vote.
