Senator Stearch described Senate Bill 126 as a clarification of how the Academic Challenge (lottery) scholarship interacts with the Governor's Distinguished Scholarship and as a cleanup that removes an outdated GPA reference. "This is needed to kinda clarify some stacking language where you can get both the governor's distinguished scholarship and the lottery scholarship," Stearch said, adding that the bill "does not increase the student awards" and instead aligns code language.
