Joint committee votes to withdraw RFP and reissue after debate over single bidder, cost and timing

Following the APA/WestEd presentation and an extended question-and-answer period, the joint Senate and House Interim Education Committee on Education debated whether to accept the single responsive proposal or to seek additional bidders. Several members expressed concern that only one vendor had submitted a proposal for a contract estimated in committee discussion at roughly $900,000 and urged additional competition or negotiation before awarding a contract.
