Commissioners approve $6,000 for backup radio repeaters after warranty problems

"We're gonna have to do something... we're gonna have to have backups," the staff member said. Commissioners agreed there was a public-safety priority and approved the expenditure, directing finance staff to move funds from general contingency into the appropriate line.
Staff also noted the sheriff's office had temporarily allowed other agencies to use its channel to sustain operations while repairs were pending. Commissioners asked staff to track expenditures and to pursue warranty remedies in parallel.
