Committee fixes PDMP statute to explicitly include podiatrists

Representative Justin Boyd, R‑District 77, told the Senate Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee that House Bill 10‑13 corrects a drafting error from 2017 that left podiatrists off the list of prescribers required to check the state Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) before writing a Schedule II narcotic or a first‑time benzodiazepine. "When that bill was written, somehow, podiatrists were inadvertently left off," Boyd said, urging committee support.
