County hears update on Winston Field layout plan; FAA airspace review pending
Consultant Perry of Centurion Planning & Design presented a completed airport layout plan (ALP) for Winston Field (SNK). He said the plan must clear an FAA airspace review before the county can finalize the ALP and pursue state or federal grant funding for runway, apron and fuel-farm projects.

Perry of Centurion Planning & Design told the Scurry County Commissioners Court that the year‑long update to Winston Field's airport layout plan is complete and has been submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration for airspace review. "If it's not on here, you guys can't go to the state and ask for money," Perry said, explaining that projects must be included on the ALP to be eligible for state and federal grant matches.
