The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization voted on March 21 to release Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendment 2 for federal fiscal years 2022–2026 for a 21-day public-comment period.
Colleen (presenter) summarized Amendment 2, which increases the programmed amount for the Orleans Route 28 at Route 39/Quonset Road roundabout project. She reported a total project cost of $5,798,657, noting the project was previously obligated for $5,169,828; Amendment 2 would fund the remaining approximate $754,849 using a combination of leftover regional target funds and statewide funds in federal fiscal year 2022. The amendment also contains an administrative name change to better reflect the Mashpee Route 151 Quonset (phase 1) project limits.
After Colleen’s presentation, Kevin Galligan moved to release the amendment for public comment and Harold Mitchell seconded; Phil read the roll and the motion passed by roll-call vote. Colleen said staff will return next month to review any public comments and to consider a potential endorsement.
What happens next: Amendment 2 will be posted for a 21-day public comment period; staff will compile public input and return to the MPO at the next meeting for review and potential endorsement.
