Kinetic reports progress, committee and major prospects for St. Joseph community center campaign

Kinetic, the city’s fundraising partner for the St. Joseph community center/YMCA, briefed the council on Aug. 5 on steps taken to advance the capital campaign.
Scott Justfig of Kinetic said the campaign committee received a training session on July 18, that a five‑person leadership committee (Patty Wetterling, Amy Bonfig, Carol Breeze, Corey Ellert and Anne Riesner) will manage day‑to‑day volunteer leadership work, and that Kinetic has reallocated consulting hours to concentrate effort during the prime fundraising months of July–September. "We're moving those hours into July, August, and September where we do have an opportunity to be more productive," he said.
Justfig told the council Kinetic has identified three foundation prospects specifically for St. Joseph; the three foundations are not shared with the Saint Cloud Y. He said one prospect could be a six‑figure gift and another has the potential to be a seven‑figure contribution; staff will provide updated totals at the next meeting.
Why it matters: The city and Kinetic are positioning to attract major philanthropic support for the community center; the campaign is coordinating with the Saint Cloud Y on fiscal arrangements so gifts can be properly designated.
