Rowlett City Council voted 4–3 on Sept. 9 to adopt an amended planned-development ordinance for the Lakeview Beer Garden property on Lakeview Parkway, approving revisions to landscaping, security and fencing while retaining the dumpster location shown on the applicant’s site plan.
Staff told council the roughly 3.2–3.9 acre property had previously been approved for a 2,200–2,222 square-foot building, a food-truck park and a dog park and that the applicant proposes changes to the previously adopted buffers and site improvements. Staff said the applicant would provide a 15-foot buffer with trees on the north and east property lines, install an 8-foot masonry wall in portions of the north buffer and install motion-activated nighttime cameras in lieu of an automatic gate.
