UVALDE COUNTY — County staff presented a resolution to reaffirm county support for a grant program described as created by 'Senate Bill 22.' The court adopted the resolution by voice vote.
Staff said the program was implemented in January 2024 and reported the county has budgeted allocations consistent with the program: the district attorney and county attorney lines were each cited at about $175,000, and the sheriff’s allocation (including jail-related funding) was presented as roughly $350,000 in total. Staff said the funds referenced are already included in the county’s adopted budget and that adopting the resolution imposes no additional unbudgeted county funding obligations.
Commissioners voted to adopt the resolution as presented; the motion carried with no recorded roll call.
The resolution will be included in county records and the relevant agencies were provided detail about their allocations.
