District Attorney Darren Lee told the Dawson County Board that his office stores substantially more digital evidence than other county departments and is running out of space on a 29 TB network storage appliance. Lee said he and IT staff recommended purchasing a higher‑capacity Synology unit (described in the presentation as roughly 176 terabytes) at an estimated cost of about $20,189 plus an annual Synology cloud‑backup subscription of $3,000.
