Lincoln introduces comfort dog program for first responders

Police Chief Matt Alves introduced the citycomfort dog "Mattis" to the Lincoln City Council and public on June 25 as a program donated and supported by the nonprofit Hearts for Heroes. Alves said the dog will be handled by an officer and deployed to provide comfort, emotional support and to help first responders and victims during difficult calls.
