Council backs HOME program application and awards grant-administration bid

The Crockett City Council approved a resolution authorizing submission of an application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for the HOME Investment Partnerships program and authorized city officials to act on the city's behalf.

Speaker 2 summarized the program history, noting the city's last HOME cycle began in 2017 and resulted in construction work completed through 2021, and said the council is being asked to set aside $40,000 for match/administrative costs (some or much of which may be in-kind). "They asked us, initially to set aside funds for, dollars 40,000 to cover our in kind matches," Speaker 2 said.

The council approved the award as recorded in the meeting minutes; the transcript records a motion and a second and records 'Motion carries.'
