Board declines EDA appointee amid conflict‑of‑interest concerns

The motion to appoint (item 7 pulled from the consent agenda for separate consideration) was moved and seconded and followed with a substantive discussion of EDA membership standards, potential conflicts and the board’s direction for appointments. The motion failed 5–1 (one absent). No alternate nominee was immediately confirmed.
