Gibson Solar update: developers commit conservation and grazing plan; commission seeks wetlands detail

At the meeting the planning commission received an update on the Gibson Solar project from OpenRoad Renewables. Company representatives said the project area comprises about 1,894 acres under purchase option or lease, with roughly 890 acres proposed inside the project fence. The applicant said approximately one‑third of the fenced acreage is existing pasture; most of the remainder is commercial pine plantation.
