County administrator: 'We are not a sanctuary county'
In the county administrator's report the administrator clarified Campbell County has no local immigration laws, does not have policies refusing cooperation with federal law enforcement, and said the county's detention center cooperates with ICE when necessary.

During the county administrator's report, the county administrator addressed residents' questions about whether Campbell County is a "sanctuary county." "We are not, there's no such thing as an official sanctuary county," he said, adding that the county has "no local laws that address immigration" and "we have no practices that tell us not to cooperate with federal law enforcement." He also stated, "our detention center cooperates with ICE, anytime that's necessary."
