County hears road update and approves multiple bids for road materials, engineering and uniforms

Magistrates thanked crews for improved sightlines and mowing work in the First District.
The court then considered annual bid awards for aggregates, blacktop, concrete and culvert pipe and recommendations for professional services. Chief and public safety staff recommended awarding uniforms to Galls (low bidder), and Ben presented procurement results and recommended engaging HMB Professional Engineers LLC for upcoming engineering services (HMB was the selected proposer after scoring). Several road material and concrete contracts were awarded (including sole bids where applicable); a few magistrates abstained on specific awards and those abstentions were recorded in the roll call.
Magistrates also approved a small change order on vehicle‑storage foundation drains for the road facility (work already completed) and asked staff to revisit administrative thresholds for change orders to avoid surprises in the future.
