The Harrison County Commission on Oct. 9 read and adopted a proclamation recognizing October 2024 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The proclamation described the pervasive nature of domestic violence, the long-term harm to victims and families, and urged citizens to support services and partners that provide medical, legal and transitional counseling.
