Board approves Danforth Library collection-development policy
Summary
The Danforth Library Board voted unanimously to approve the Collection Development Policy during the Dec. 17 meeting. The motion was moved and seconded and recorded as passed; the policy will be implemented per staff procedure.
At its Dec. 17 meeting, the Danforth Library Board of Trustees voted to approve the library's Collection Development Policy.
The board chair opened old business on the policy and a motion to approve was moved and seconded. Board members cast affirmative votes in sequence (Amanda, Honey, Jerry, Joe, Shelley, Malavika, Michael and the presiding member) and the chair announced the motion passed.
Board discussion before the vote was limited; staff noted the vote formalizes existing collection-selection procedures and will be reflected in operations. The policy will be implemented by library staff according to normal administrative procedures.
