Representative Carroll elected chair; Representative Weinstein named vice chair
At a Clay County meeting, members elected Representative Carroll as chair and Representative Weinstein as vice chair under the panel’s bylaws. Both were chosen by nomination and declared elected "without objection." Members were also asked to assist with sponsorships for several bills.

Unidentified Speaker opened the meeting and said the body must elect new leadership "according to our bylaws," noting the chair rotates annually. "I believe that Representative Proctor has a nomination," the speaker said before moving to nominate Representative Carroll for the chairmanship of the next session. "Given that she's absent, I'm gonna nominate Representative Carroll of the chairmanship next session," the speaker added. The nomination was accepted "without objection," and Representative Carroll was declared chair.
