At the Nov. 25 meeting the committee introduced a resolution requesting the director of engineering appear to explain why permit applications have been pending for months without responses to applicants. Members noted the director of engineering was not present and that the chief of staff had signaled the issue should remain in committee for further handling.
A committee member moved to keep the item in committee to allow for additional follow-up; the motion was seconded and carried. The chair announced the item will remain in committee and return for a future discussion when appropriate, rather than being scheduled for immediate action by the full council.
