Commissioners approve plats, infrastructure acceptances and multiple procurement actions
Summary
The court approved preliminary and final plats for two large subdivisions, accepted public streets and drainage with associated bonds, released maintenance bonds, awarded a courthouse master plan contract, approved solicitations and evaluation committees for justice center and development code RFQs, and approved a sheriff's truck purchase funded by Senate Bill 22.
On July 23 the Caldwell County Commissioners Court handled several land‑use and procurement actions.
Planning staff reported that comments were cleared and fees paid for the Lantana preliminary plat (469 residential lots on approximately 150.319 acres on County View Road); the court approved the plan. The court also approved the final plat for Cotton Gateway Phase 1 (294 lots on about 139.71 acres at FM 21 and William Pettis Road). For Cool Water Acres the court accepted public streets and drainage as completed and authorized the two‑year performance period to begin after receipt of a maintenance bond for $229,947.73 and release of the construction bond back to the developer. Similarly, the court approved acceptance of public improvements in Monte Sagrado and released the two‑year maintenance bond after punch‑list completion.
On procurement, purchasing recommended awarding the courthouse master plan development services to Ford, Powell & Carson following an RFQ evaluation; the court approved the award. The court also approved the final draft solicitation and evaluation committee for RFP 24CCP03P (Caldwell County Justice Center remodel and PSAP consolidation) and for RFQ 24CCP02Q (development code revisions), naming committee members including the county judge, sheriff, building maintenance supervisor, purchasing agent and others. The court approved requisition 03175 for a new sheriff's office truck in the amount of $67,992.30 to be purchased with Senate Bill 22 funds.
All items were approved by motion and voice vote. Several actions direct staff to administratively complete standard follow‑up steps (recording, bonds, contract execution).
