Board notified D‑SNAP preregistration and Hurricane Milton grant limits

The board was informed that preregistration for D‑SNAP hurricane food‑stamp assistance opened Nov. 11 and runs through Nov. 15, with phone interviews scheduled Nov. 12–15. The chair said applicants will be assigned a telephone interview day based on last name and gave a preregistration/interview phone number of 1‑888‑348‑0408. She also said on‑site D‑SNAP assistance will be held at the end of November for applicants who miss preregistration.
Michelle Tolliver described a Hurricane Milton grant program approved by the City Commission for homeowners, renters and small businesses affected by the hurricane. “$9,000 is the max that the homeowner and the renter can take advantage of, and the small business owner can take advantage of up to $5,000,” she said, and noted paper applications were available in the lobby while funds last.
