District clerk requests reclassifications and temporary staff as e-filing increases workload

District Clerk Lorenzen asked commissioners to raise clerk pay and reorganize positions to retain institutional knowledge amid increased electronic filing and higher caseloads. She proposed eliminating one Senior Clerk 1 position and using that funding to reclassify six Senior Clerk 1s to Senior Clerk 2, a change she said would cost the county about $18,012 after internal reallocations.
